Alucobond, stainless or acrylic: choosing a fascia material in Amman's climate
Sun, dust and temperature swings decide more than taste does. A short guide to what lasts.
Aluminium composite panels are the default fascia material for a reason: flat, light, cut cleanly on the router, and available in finishes from matte to brushed metallic. Choose a PVDF-coated panel for south-facing facades.
Stainless steel is the choice when the sign must look the same in ten years. It costs more to cut, weld and finish, and it shows fingerprints on brushed finishes, but it does not fade or chalk.
Acrylic is for the faces of illuminated letters and for interior signs. Outdoors, use cast acrylic in the right thickness and keep it out of direct structural roles.
Tempered glass signs are elegant indoors and in sheltered entrances. Direct sun and thermal shock are their enemies; ask us before specifying glass on an exposed facade.
